Is Buying A Designer Handbag Or Purse Wasting Money?
By Lee MacRae
The latest in fashion rage is designer handbags. Just about everyone like your sister or your great grandmorher wants a handbag by Isabella Fiore. Yet, when you consider the money you may have to pay for a designer handbag, the question that we have to ask is, are we spending our money wisely?
For most people, of course, they obtain their money through hard work. So, is that expensive Brahmin purse or bag a good investment? Will they get full value in return? And the answer that question is yes, they are. And why do we say that?
The answer is - designer bag or purse these days are made from high-grade materials. A leather bag by Cynthia Vincent will use top grade leather that is beautiful, supple and will last a long time. So, although you will be paying for the name you will also be getting a top quality Still not convinced?
Here is a good thing to know, top leather handbags have a fine lining material as well. Cheaper handbags will not. Makers of lower grade products look for every possible way to keep costs down. As a result, you will find cheaper linings and even cheaper hardware. They will wear out and fall apart in no time. Full grain leather products are made from top grade natural hides without imperfections. This natural grain is extremely durable. It simply does not wear out and over years of use, it darkens to its full beautiful patina in various stages. The skins of young cattle are usually used for full grain handbags and have extremely smooth texture, and very fine quality.
So, what you get when you buy a handbag by Vivienne Westwood or Juicy Couture? Well, what you are buying is a top quality product and it will be with you for a lifetime if you desire. Even if you have to save up your money, use it wisely and by a designer handbag.

Throughout the early 20th century, practically all high fashion originated in Paris, and to a lesser extent London. Fashion magazines from other countries sent editors to the Paris fashion shows. Department stores sent buyers to the Paris shows, where they purchased garments to copy and openly stole the style lines and trim details of others. Both made-to-measure salons, and ready-to-wear departments, featured the latest Paris trends, and adapted to the stores' assumptions about the lifestyles and pocket books of their targeted customers. At this time in fashion history the division between haute couture and ready-to-wear was not sharply defined. The two separate modes of production were still far from being competitors, and, indeed, they often co-existed in houses where the seamstresses moved freely between made-to-measure and ready-made.

Canada DevDays 2004
Thu, 12 Feb 2004 14:21:00 GMT
Ever since I read about the Microsoft DevDays 2004 event I rushed to their site in order to find out if there was any Canadian cities listed! Unfortunately, I could not find any information related to a Canada DevDays event occurring after 2001.
At first I thought that this year's event was US-only, but then I stumbled upon David Cumps' reports from Belgium DevDays and then Roy Osherove writing about Israel DevDays!
Sure, the January issue of INETA mentions a Microsoft Canada Campus Tour organized by DotNetStudents.ca. There is also Steven Smith from ASPAlliance who gave a great speech at the Montreal Visual Studio User Group on February 10th 2004. But that's pretty much it for the coming months.
This is very sad because I would have been one of the first to register for this event! Hopefully next year we will see a Canada DevDays 2005?
UPDATE:
Phil Weber also mentionned in the comments, VSLine! in Toronto in early May 2004. Great!

Google's Gmail
Tue, 18 May 2004 21:29:00 GMT
Ever since Google's announced the beta test of a free online web-based email service that would offer huge storage limits, a lot more email service providers are making the news trying to race Google out. For example, Spymac has been offering the service for a while now, and some hebrew portal was about to launch something similar. Yahoo! is about to offer slightly increased mailbox size. Lycos Europe has already increased their limit to 1gb.
Maybe in an attempt to counter-attack the competition, Google decided to increased their previously announced 1gb limit to 1tb!! That's right, **ONE TERABYTE** of data (mostly email)! :-D
Here is a screenshot for your viewing pleasure!
If you have a Gmail account, I would be pretty curious to know if you see it as shown on the screenshot.
UPDATE:
As Greg suspected in the comments, it was in fact a bug that Google fixed promptly! ;-)
